Third Street South businesses are reopening in response to Governor DeSantis’ Phase 1 recommendations
Third Street South’s restaurants and retail stores, following Governor DeSantis’ announcement this week that Florida businesses may begin Phase 1 reopening, are each individually planning how they will open and simultaneously respect the rules necessary to protect their patrons and staff. Everyone wants Phase 1 to work well, and being careful is the key to success. Each establishment will choose its own date to reopen and Third Street South will celebrate and publish their information.
Naples has previously demonstrated its ability to operate as a whole community for collective good, adaptability in times of struggle, and always an optimistic, forward-looking perspective. Now is as important a time as ever to be mindful that we are all in this together, and that—even more critically—we can all contribute to an ongoing recovery, and emerge stronger and more resilient. We know we are not entirely out of harm’s way. Social distancing, frequent and thorough handwashing, and respect for the remaining restrictions on businesses will be essential in ensuring we move successfully to Phase 2, and that we are each helping to contribute to each other’s wellbeing.
If we are careful, guided by science and mindful of each other, and if we do not rush too fast, Third Street South will again see groups of friends mingled around the fountains and courtyards, groups shopping and dining together, the Third Street South Farmer’s Market again convening, and resuming celebrations of all kinds throughout the year. Our most fervent hope is for all to remain healthy and well, while doing our part to support our local businesses, and all that goes into maintaining a thriving community such as ours.
