The Third Street South Farmer’s Market, which was recently named to a list of the best 101 Farmer’s Markets in the United States, received unanimous approval from the Naples City Council to resume operations for one more year on Third Street South between Broad Avenue and 13th Avenue South starting November 19, 2016 and running through April 2017. The Third Street South Farmer’s Market was the founding farmer’s market in Naples, and now more than 20 years later has become a vital—and much beloved—component of our community. As City Council deliberated whether or not to approve the permit application, more than 2000 emails were sent by concerned members of the community who rallied around the Farmer’s Market with keen support. During the busiest months in Naples, the Market shifts from its summertime parking lot location to the street in order to accommodate the thousands of seasonal residents and visitors who come to find the market’s approximately 60 different vendors. Many with family and pets in tow, they wander the market and visit the shops and restaurants of the area. The Third Street South Farmer’s Market runs weekly year-round from 7:30am-11:30am.
