SUMMARY:Meet & Greet and Book Signing with Stacy McKay | Books on Third
DESCRIPTION:Perfect for teens\, parents\, and readers who love thought-provoking contemporary fiction\, this event is a great opportunity to meet the author\, learn more about the story behind the book\, and get your copy signed. \nAbout The New We \nPolitics is a childish game—one that teen Sammy never knew could destroy him. The New We is a gripping young adult novel about identity\, power\, and what it costs to stand alone.  Sammy Iris knows exactly who he is: a manicure-flashing\, soccer-playing teen who refuses to fit neatly into anyone’s box. But being unapologetically himself in small-town Pennsylvania comes at a price—especially when his best friend Cleo joins a school club led by his rival\, Benjamin\, who is determined to “fix” what he sees as his school’s fading values. \nFeeling betrayed and pushed aside\, Sammy starts a rival club—sparking a high-stakes conflict that quickly spirals. As tensions rise\, money goes missing\, and the school newspaper becomes a weapon\, Sammy must navigate friendship\, identity\, and power in a story where every choice has consequences. \nAt its core\, The New We explores belonging\, courage\, and self-expression—asking one timeless question:\nWhat if doing the right thing means standing alone? \n👩‍💼 About the Author\nStacy McKay is an award-winning entrepreneur\, international educator\, and author with more than twenty-five years of experience working at the intersection of culture\, identity\, and belonging. \nHer career has spanned international education\, university administration\, immigration law\, organizational leadership\, and the founding of an international organization that has helped thousands of students find their place in the world through study abroad. \nOriginally from rural Pennsylvania\, she now writes from Southwest Florida\, where she lives with her husband\, John\, their son\, Leo\, and her impish Persian cat\, Noelle—who regularly interrupts her work (and is probably snoozing on her keyboard right now). \nThe New We continues her lifelong mission to inspire empathy\, curiosity\, and understanding in young people. \nDate: Saturday\, June 6\nTime: 10:00 AM\nLocation: Books on Third (in-store event) \n🎟️ Ticket Information\n\nThis is a free\, in-store event\nBooks will be available for purchase
